Juan Carlos has always been curious about the dancing body and its ability to intermingle with technology. In, 2007 at Reel Dance for Camera intensive summer program Juan Carlos found an interest for dance films. This oppportuntiy of working with Master Ellem Bromberg provided him with the opportunity to meet and collaborate with filmmaker Alejandro Valbuena. Their short film "BURNT" has been screened and won over 50 Awards at numerous festivals including: Dance Camera West– Los Angeles, Dance on Camera Festival– Salt Lake City, New York–DFA, Clermont Ferrand, Oberhausen, London, Basel, Sapporo, VIFF, and American Dance Festival– North Carolina. In 2011 at Imagine Native Film and Media Festival and aluCine Latin Film and Media Arts Festival Toronto, Canada being nominated best media film at all festivals.
